SABRETEC TRAINING COURSE TYPE DETAILS

*All Materials Handling Equipment course ratio’s are 3:1:1  
A maximum of 3 Trainees to one Instructor and the use of one truck.


1 day Refresh Course:

TRAINEE SPECIFICATION : Experienced Forklift Truck Operators who have had Basic Training to an approved recognised standard and have proof by Certificate. 

AIM: To provide a 1 day refresher course to update the knowledge and skills required to operate a Fork Lift Truck safely and efficiently in accordance with the Health and Safety October 1999 Approved Code of Practice. To include a Theory test, a Pre Shift Check test and conduct the AITT Practical test and issue of Certificate to successful trainees.


1 or 2 day Conversion Course :

TRAINEE SPECIFICATION : Certified Fork Lift Truck Operators who: operate on a type/category of Forklift Truck, i.e Counterbalance, who require a ‘CONVERSION COURSE’ to another Forklift Truck type/category, i.e. Reach Truck.

AIM : To provide a 1 or 2 day course to update the knowledge and skills required to operate another Lift Truck type/category safely and efficiently in accordance with the Health and Safety 1999 Approved Code of Practice. To include a Theory test, a Pre Shift Check test and conduct the AITT Practical test and issue of Certificate to successful trainees.


2 or 3 day Experienced Operator Course :

TRAINEE SPECIFICATION : Experienced existing Fork Lift Truck Operators who have: NO proof of previous training, or previous certificate has expired for a period of more than 5 years.

AIM : To provide a 2 or 3 day course to update the knowledge and skills required to operate a Lift Truck or Reach Truck safely and efficiently in accordance with the Health and Safety 1999 Approved Code of Practice. To include a Theory test, a Pre Shift Check test and conduct the AITT Practical test and issue of Certificate to successful trainees.


3, 4 or 5 day Novice Course : (1 trainee = 3 days / 2 trainees = 4 days / 3 trainees = 5 days)

TRAINEE SPECIFICATION : Novices wishing to become Operators who have not driven Materials Handling Equipment before.

AIM : To provide a 3 to 5 day course of instruction in the knowledge and skill required to operate a Fork Lift Truck safely and efficiently in accordance with the Health and Safety October 1999 Approved Code of Practice. To include a Theory Test, a Pre Use Check Test and conduct the AITT Practical Test and issue of Certificate to successful trainees.


*All courses durations shown are the minimum as guided by the ACOP L117. Further training may be necessary to help the trainee achieve a standard in readiness to test.
